About Us

This is me - Amanda - I'm sitting with some of the kids from the Hogar Miguel Magone, one weekend during my first trip to Guatemala in August 2006. I was in Guatemala for a month and only spent two days away from the home. I am 40, I live in Essex and I work in the UK as a pharmaceutical representative. I have just come back from a second trip to the Hogar and I cannot emphasise enough, how much these children change your outlook on life. Each time I go to the hogar I am amazed by the hope, determination and lust for life that the kids eminate. They are humbling, inspiring and an everlasting source of energy for living!

This is me- Anna - I am an actor/director who had an absolutely life changing time in Guatemala. A life long commitment started and I miss the boys every single day! Not only do I miss their great hugs but I think of the hope, the hunger for life and the inspiration they have provided for this organization, for Orphan’s Hope, US, for my forthcoming theatre project “Firestarter” in collaboration with the Guatemalan Embassy in London and Stockholm and beyond.

If Amanda and myself can encourage some of you to go and give a hand at the Hogar we can guarantee that you too will grow as a person in ways you may never have expected.
